Area Coaches for Minnesota’s Down Under Bowl Cheer Team
Down Under Sports has a new program for cheerleading coaches that will allow more coaches to participate in coaching the Minnesota cheer team. This is a great opportunity to become involved in an amazing opportunity to combine cheerleading coaching and international travel. The current coach, Lynn Turner, is leaving the state and this will be her last year to direct the team. Coaches wishing to become a part of our program will have the opportunity to travel to Australia and Hawaii for FREE once in the next few years as part of our Area Coach program. Hamline University - Cheer Team Coach

Hamline University is looking for high skilled Cheer Team Coach who is highly motivated and organized. Applicants should be willing to work with current Cheer Team leadership through the transition. The Cheer Team Coach is apart-time position with the majority of duties being performed from August through March.
Responsibilities:
Cheer Team Coach duties include overseeing the participation of the Hamline University Cheer Team at the activities and events at which they are requested to perform, including, but not limited to all home football and basketball games. Responsibilities also include providing a selection process for determining the members of the Cheer Team; overseeing the Cheer Team budget; communicating with the Director of Athletics, varsity coaches and the facilities manager regarding practice times; conducting practices in a professional and organized manner; developing guidelines for dress and routine that are consistent with Hamline University’s policies; and following the guidelines established for Cheer Teams by the NCAA and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Education or Experience:
Experience as a Cheer Team Coach is required, experience at the college level is preferred. Applicants must have experience in dance and gymnastics as well. This position required an organized detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and effectiveness in public relations and student relations. Valid drivers’ license is required with the ability to be properly licensed/approved to drive University vehicles.
