Trainer/MCCA Judging Director: Val Rae Boe

MCCA Judges Training provides new and experienced judges with the tools to confidently critique and score using the UCA score sheet.
This training was developed to prepare and refresh judges for the MCCA State Competition and is open to anyone wishing to be considered as an MCCA State Competition judge. The only cost to you is your time.

MCCA provides a full day training session on the UCA score sheet during an actual cheer competition to provide prospective judges with actual competition day scoring practice. The day starts with a review of the score sheets including in-depth discussion and examples on what to consider in each area of the score sheet. Classroom discussion will also address etiquette and professionalism. Following classroom training, the session will move to the competition area where trainees will practice judging each division followed by discussion and critique. Upon completion of the full day of training including classroom and competition scoring, MCCA will include you on their website as an MCCA trained judge. The full day training session is approximately 6 hours.

A preview of the MCCA judges training is provided during the MCCA fall conference. The MCCA Judging Course Preview is a synopsis of the full day MCCA judges training course. This session will provide the participant a brief overview of what is covered in the MCCA judges training: routine critique, scoring with the UCA score sheets, etiquette and professionalism - your role as a judge. The preview session is approximately 40min.
