Know the NFHS Rules

The MSHSL is a member of the National Federation of High Schools and all school (grades 7 – 12) sideline cheer teams in the state must follow the NFHS Spirit Rules for all games, practices and performances, such as parades and pep fests.  Each summer cheer coaches should obtain a current Spirit Rules book from the Athletic/Activity Director.  The rules changes for the year are announced by the NFHS in late January that will go in to effect the following school year.  The changes are found at http://www.nfhs.org/web/2006/08/spirit.aspx.  Additional information about the NFHS rules and the MSHSL policies for sideline cheerleaders can be found at http://www.mshsl.org/mshsl/activitypage.asp?actnum=461

For questions regarding the rules ask a rules clinician. sandi.hoffman@gmail.com
